Well wouldn’t you know, I realized yesterday that Father’s day was coming up. Mom, don’t let Dad see this post, ok?  And we all know that Lucy makes cards and so I had to make cards.  So I checked out a couple of blogs for inspiration and wouldn’t you know that the CAS(E) this Sketch #79 was this:

And Simon Says Wednesday Challenge was on masculine cards. So I want to enter both challenges, with my card.

fathers day 2014

So the tool embellishments was from Papertrey Ink Handy Hardware stamps and die cuts. The Happy Father’s day stamp is also from Papertrey Ink but the World’s Greatest stamp set I got last year. I used Tim Holtz long fasteners as the nail heads on the banner. I used Neena Dessert Storm as the card and the die cut pieces were scraps I had.

So a co-worker asked for a card for her 10 year old niece.  So I plowed through my pink and girly stash and came up with this card. Even used the sewing machine! I want to enter it into the Simon Says Anything Goes Challenge and the CASE Study Challenge #193

10 year bday

Supplies used:

embellishments: Doodlebug cupcake
Patterned paper: Creative Imaginations
Die cut: Spellbinders wonky rectangles
Stamp: Stampendous Birthday assortment

Here’s another couple of cards I’ve made over the past couple weeks.  I was trying out the stencil and had to use what I made so this card arose. Supplies used: the Simon Says Stamp Stars and Dots stencil as well as their All Boy stamp “Dude”.The “you” die cut and coordinated stamp is also from Simon Says Stamp.  Tag die is from Sizzix.

Dude you will be missed

This next card was inspired by Mama Mo, ok more like copied. Hey, when you find something you like, copy!

congrats you are awesome May 14

Supplies used were Winnie & Walter Big Bold You, Studio Calico’s Sketchbook, Anna Marie Sugardot Stickers, Mark Richards Nailheads and a silver star from my stash as well as washi tape.

I think I like it so much I may make one for someone who just graduated.

Here’s the original card:

Joe’s Retirement

So, I’ve been a little busy with work.  I have several cards that I’ll be sharing. First up is a retirement card. Since I got the May card kit from Simon Says stamp, I was at Crafts Direct up in St. Cloud and saw they had some embellishments for the Fancy Pants Be Different collection so I grabbed them. So I came up with this card with the help of Nichol Magouirk’s card on the inspiration sheet that SSS provides in their kit.

So all paper and embellishments used are Fancy Pants Be Different and the stamp is from Impression Obsession. I used the stencil Stars and Dots by SSS that was also in the kit with clear embossing paste. I’m hoping the monster doesn’t look too girly since it’s for a guy.

I’m entering it into the Addicted to Stamps Challenge Blog of Anything Goes

Well Here’s a birthday card I made.  I’m trying to focus on more masculine birthday cards since I work with 6 guys and I know there’s some birthdays coming up. So I broke out the sewing machine anyways.  I hadn’t used it in a while and I thought this was the perfect way to adhere the two pieces of paper together.

male birthday

This is using the Fancy Pants paper out of the May 2014 Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp.  I also used a coordinating chipboard button by Fancy Pants.  The happy stamp is by a new company Winnie & Walter. I used versamark ink with a buff colored embossing powder but felt it was to washed out so I added some G07 Copic Marker to the embossing to help make it pop a little more. The Birthday die cut is from Papertrey Ink using October Afternoon paper.

Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day.

Yep, It’s been a while. Just because it’s been a while, does not mean I haven’t been creating.  Just haven’t been posting. Took the pictures but now I can’t remember the supplies used. So I’m going to start with my recent cards that I’ve made and of course, that’s Mother’s Day!  So I made 2 cards – one for my mom and one for my mother in law.  Same design.  Which do you like?

Mother's day 1

The one above is the one I started liking the best.  But then I think I put so much effort into the second one, that I liked it better.

Mother's day 2

Supplies:

Paper: Basic Grey, vellum

Embellishments: Studio Calico buttons, sequins, K & Company butterfly, silver thread

So I made some cards a while ago but forgot to post them.  The first card is a chevron stripe by Lawn Fawn in a rainbow of colors using Distress Inks. Sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

The next card is an easel card so in the picture you see both the front and the inside (We Can’t thank you enough). I wish I’d taken a picture from the side.
